Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya Scheme
Sarva shiksha Abhiyan Authorty’s commitment to Universalize elementary education necessarily implies equal participation to all children religion, caste , races, sex etc. Girls who constitute one half of the child population fall in to this category requires special attention it has noticed that participation of girls belongs to remote area, SC, OBC and minorities categories declined. So In order to have a special attention on education of girls in educationally backward blocks(EBB’s). Where, female literacy is low Gender gap in literacy is high. The SSA has planned to provide special facilities to encourage and educate these girls under kasturba Gandhi bal vidyalya scheme (KGBV) In this 100 girls of class 6 TH to 12 th has been admitted in school and resides in hostel.
In the year 2011-12, 1 KGBV hostels were sanctioned under SSA by GOI for the EBBs of block namely valtoha in Tarn Taran.

Construction of hostel buildings: The construction work has been started for the hostel KGBV TYPE
III extention which is situated in campus of heath centre ,amarkot road valtoha .
